Shoe Re-use:
Has your child outgrown their Livie & Luca or other shoes? Consider donating gently-worn shoes to children living in poverty. Having a pair of shoes means being able to walk to school and play outside.

Livie & Luca has partnered with Art for Humanity to arrange for the delivery of donated children's shoes to low-income families in Honduras, the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Art for Humanity is a humanitarian organization that was formed to assist impoverished families to use their current skills to begin micro-businesses. To learn more about Art for Humanity please visit their website at www.artforhumanity.org.

Every good deed should be rewarded! For each donation of children's shoes, you will be sent a coupon for free ground shipping. Isn’t that reason enough to clean out your toddler’s closet?

To learn more or donate a pair of shoes please email info-at-livieandluca-dot-com.

Sharing is Caring:
Livie & Luca strongly believes in creating a better world for our children. To that end, Livie & Luca has made charitable giving an integral part of our business model. Livie & Luca donates 10% of online sales to charity. It’s our way of giving back and saying thanks.

To learn more about Sharing is Caring, our charitable giving initiative, please email info-at-livieandluca-dot-com.

Fundraisers:
Throughout the year, Livie & Luca takes part in many fundraisers across the country by donating to preschool auctions, park fundraisers and other community events. We are happy to consider requests for your next community or school fundraiser. Please email us at info-at-livieandluca-dot-com. Please keep in mind, however, that we cannot fulfill all requests.

Are you thinking of a creative way to raise money for your favorite charity, preschool, daycare or club? A Livie & Luca shoe party is a great way to conduct a fundraiser! Email us at info-at-livieandluca-dot-com for more information.

Treading Lightly:
Factory Conditions. At Livie & Luca we feel that it is imperative to have first-hand knowledge of how our shoes are made. For that reason, we have personally visited our factory in China for an extended period, meeting with both managers and employees. Here are details that we’d like to share about our factory’s practices:

  • They pay a competitive salary, which is significantly more than the minimum wage.
  • The factory maintains its worker base because it offers steady year-round work, which is not typical.
  • Employees work seven hours a day, six days per week and accrue vacation time apart from the national holidays.
  • Housing is provided for employees who do not live locally.
  • Apart from the mandatory health insurance that is provided for each employee, the factory also coordinates and provides yearly medical exams for its employees.
  • Factory equipment and work environment are checked for safety on a regular basis.
  • Factory owners care about their employees and are very much involved in the shoe making process.
  • As owners, we noticed immediately that factory employees are not only hard working but also seem to enjoy their work.

Protecting the Environment. Here are some ways that we do our part to reduce our footprint on the planet:

Reduce:

  • Factory workers are from the local town, or live on-site, mostly walking or riding a bicycle to work.
  • Non-toxic glue is used in the production of our shoes.

Re-use:

  • Customers can send back their gently-worn Livie & Luca shoes for donation to a non-profit that coordinates the distribution of shoes for families in need.
  • Reusable cloth bags are used to package online orders.

Recycle:

  • Brochures, business cards and postcards are printed on post-consumer product and use soy ink.
  • For shoe production, Livie & Luca chooses to use remains of high quality leather that would otherwise be discarded.
