Welcome Joan! We’re thrilled to have our first international L & L Solemate interview!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Joan and I’m from Indonesia.  International people used to know only Bali but Indonesia is really a big country with lots of beautiful tourism places. I’m a stay-at-home mom with an online business and I have one son who is two and a half years years old. I don’t socialize much since I’m mostly at home taking care of my son and my business. I love the online world, I love collecting Ball Jointed Dolls, and reading and listening to music.

Where did you grow up and where do you live now?

I was born in Makassar, grew up in Jakarta (the capital of Indonesia) but since I’ve been married I live in Jogjakarta, a small cultural city.  I really love living in Jogjakarta where people are still nice to each other, and there are no traffic jams.

Tell us a little about your family?

I’ve been married for 8 years. After almost 5 years of our marriage with no children we decided to try IVF and thank goodness now we are blessed with our only son Elkan, who is turning 3 this October. Having a kid really changed our life. As cheesy as it might sound, he is really the center of our joy

What are you passionate about?

I’m really in to online stuff – the gaming, the businesses, and online shopping

What is your favorite family tradition?

Actually we don’t do much of family tradition. The only tradition I can think of is our family gathering on Christmas. I just love it when the our whole big family gathers.

If you could take us along on your favorite day in your city or town, where would you take us? What would we see and do?

My favorite day would be in the town of Kaliurang. It is in the valley of Merapi mountain (an active volcano) only 30 minutes from my home. I just love to be there – the cold weather, the fresh air. My son is really happy running freely there in the park feeding the monkeys.

Where did you first see a pair of Livie  & Lucas? What do you like about them?

I first saw Livie & Luca on an online FB seller, around 2 years ago. I’m really picky about my son’s shoes since he’s in his developing years and I know he really needs a good shoe for his feet. I always Google first about which one is good for my son *thank goodness for Google* and when I saw Livie & Luca and the good reviews on Google, not too mention the cute fashion you have for boys, I ordered a couple of pairs of shoes and really can’t move to another brand ever since. I have tried other brands for my son but somehow L & L is really the top. My son doesn’t wear socks so other brands tend to give my son smelly feet. But not L & L, he can wear L & L for the whole day yet you won’t smell anything bad on his feet. That’s the main reason I always choose L & L. The second is the styles are really the best trendy shoes for boys and you don’t see a lot of trendy boys’ shoes out there.

What are your favorite Livie & Lucas?

At the moment I really love the London boots. My son had London boots from size 8 and now he is size 10.  I have searched Ebay and Amazon for the London boots

Is there anything you’d like to see from Livie & Luca in the future?

I know that L & L doesn’t do many repeat styles but I really love the London boot, Rex boot, and Hank boot. I’d like to see some more colorful shoes for boys and some white shoes too
