Backstage with an L & L Solemate – Tandy Hubbard
Welcome to the blog, Tandy!
Tell us a little bit about you….
First, I am a wife and mother. I work full time as a Policy Advisor for the Kentucky Office of the 911 Coordinator/CMRS Board and it has been a very rewarding career since I began more than 8 years ago after graduating from the University of Kentucky, GO CATS!!
Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I grew up in Frankfort, KY but now live about 30 minutes away in Lexington, KY. Lexington is an amazing little town that is a wonderful balance of rural and urban life and opportunities.
Tell us a little about your family?
My husband and I were set up on a blind date and hit it off right from the start. We both have a unique sense of humor and were married on April Fool’s Day over 7 years ago (a perfect day!). Our daughter, Taylor Kate (nicknamed “TK”), was born July 25th, 2011 and is the most spunky, personable, funny and intelligent little girl I know! She keeps us on our toes and laughing all day long.
What are you passionate about?
I love cooking, entertaining, couponing and shopping for TK! My love for cooking goes back several generations on both sides of my family . . . I come from a long line of really fabulous “cooks!”
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
I realize this is a pretty generic answer, but really each person in my family has had a significant and positive influence in my life. My mother, father, sister, grandmothers, grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws have all helped to mold me into who I am today.
What is your favorite family tradition?
While not a regular recurring tradition, I love catching up with family and friends over a glass (or glasses!) of wine.
If you could travel to any 3 countries where would they be?
I am dying to return to our honeymoon spot of Negril, Jamaica. Germany and France are also on my list as I studied French all four years of high school and my husband and I enjoy german culture, food and beer!!
Do you have any secret talents you’d like the world to know about?
I think my secret talent is my couponing abilities! It is certainly an acquired skill that takes some practice and time to excell at.
Where did you first see a pair of Livie & Lucas?
My friend Lucy Nall introduced me to Livie and Luca (coincidentally, she also set me up on that blind date with my husband . . . seeing a pattern here?)! Her girls wear them and always look adorable.
What do you like about them?
I love how they are trendy yet classic looking at the same time. We have found them to be a little generous in the sizing which is wonderful as TK seems to be able to wear them longer than other shoes. They hold up well and TK, even at age 2, can identify her pairs by name -”elephants, “petals” and “toi tois.”
What are your favorite Livie & Lucas?
We love the Petals, with the Toi Toi’s as a close second =)
Is there anything you’d like to see from Livie & Luca in the future?
I am so excited about the momma Petals coming out this Spring! More Momma shoes PLEASE!!
Thank you for talking with us, Tandy! Your family looks like a whole lot of fun!
