Voting For Our Children's Futures

When this picture was taken in November 08, I was feeling so many things: excitement over the thought of Obama being elected, an unmeasurable heart wrenching sadness over my mama’s  diagnosis with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and a deep gratitude to have my very independent & naughty 3 year old @imayaii safe in my arms doing the opposite of what our photographer, @heidi_alletzhauser_photography was encouraging her to do. Please get out there and vote. Life is comprised of so many feelings and complexities, isn’t it? One thing is for sure- I’m grateful to have all of these experiences in the USA. Let’s preserve the independence of our ability to experience it ALL and to afford our kiddos the same freedom!
